Chef Vega

Executive Chef

John’s culinary journey began as a young prodigy at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in Napa, where he quickly distinguished himself as one of the institution’s brightest talents. His exceptional skills earned him a coveted position at Alinea, a world-renowned Three-Michelin-starred restaurant in Chicago, making him one of the youngest chefs to grace its kitchen. Following this prestigious stint, John further honed his craft at Press in St. Helena, where his culinary finesse contributed to the restaurant’s Michelin-star status.

Driven by an unwavering commitment to perfection and a relentless desire to explore culinary boundaries, John embarked on a quest to craft unparalleled dining experiences. His love for food transcended mere sustenance; it was a medium for artistic expression, innovation, and connection. From poring over cookbooks to engaging in spirited discussions about ingredients and flavors, John’s passion for gastronomy was palpable.

Fueled by fond memories of bonding with his father in the kitchen, set against the backdrop of classical music, John understands the intimate nature of food—the power it holds to create lasting memories and forge meaningful connections. For him, each dish is an opportunity to craft a unique and unforgettable experience for his guests, ensuring that every meal is a cherished moment to be savored and remembered.

“For me, the cooking life has been a long love affair, with moments both sublime and ridiculous. But like a love affair, looking back you remember the happy times best.”
